I am a humble student learning the Ng Family Hung Gar system under Sifu
Frank Bolte.
I hope to one day learn the entire system and hopefully open a kwoon
here in the United States so as to pass it on to others.
I was born in 1972. At a young age I suffered from high fevers and
convulsions for an unknown reason and was clinically dead for several
minutes. Luckily I came to in the hospital and suffered no brain
damage. From a very early age I had an active interest in the martial
arts and read every book I could get my hands on about the subject,
even taking some Hapkido and Tae Kwon Do classes as well as some Aikido
later on. While I respect and admire those arts I never felt quite like
they were what I was looking for. Later on when I got older I started
investigating Chinese martial arts. Unfortunately there were no
teachers near me of any chinese martial arts. My journey began with
reading books about Xing Yi Chuan, Bagua and Tai Chi Chuan as well as
getting a video on Da Mo Yi Jin Jing. I learned The Yi
Jin Jing from this video and practice it every day for around
5 years now. In addition I practice Iron Palm which I learned from a
book I purchased from Wing Lam with some training bags. I have
practiced this also for around 5 years. Luckily I by chance encountered
My Sifu Frank Bolte online and after talking to him for a while he
agreed to teach me Hung Gar Kuen. It is one of the best things to
happen to me in life.
